Operations Manager
The specialist lending arm of a national financial services company that leads the market in equity release, our client is a boutique lender. They have retained Exchange Street in their current search for a new Operations Manager to be based with the team in Preston. Due to an increased demand for their services, our client needs to increase the scope of its operations team and therefore need an experienced operations manager who can assist the head of division in building both the systems and team required to do this. This is not a role that requires the supervision of a large number of people and is not within a sales team, so whilst the successful applicant will be responsible for a number of individuals (which will increase in the future) the greater emphasis is on the design, testing and implementation of processes and systems that will need to cope with huge demand. To that end it is vital that any applicant has residential lending experience and has been part of a team that has grown significantly, as coping with change will be a recurring theme. Candidates will also be full of ideas and have the strength of character to see those ideas through to fruition. Project management is a vital component of the role and therefore individuals with strong project experience and Prince2 will be at a distinct advantage, with responsibilities likely to include overseeing the process that sets up a new funder. Candidates will have excellent Excel skills and have an expert eye for detail, dealing with problems as they arise. It is also vital that applicants have a thorough understanding of the mortgage (including land registry, registration of details etc.) and residential lending markets. Applicants without this specialist knowledge are unlikely to be considered. This company has continued to do well in difficult market conditions and continues to lead the market in its chosen areas.
