Facilities / Building Manager
We are recruiting for a permanent facilities and building manager for our client who manage the upkeep of university student accommodation in North West London. You will be in charge of 5 buildings, each of which provide accommodation for students whilst studying at Middlesex University. The role will be incredibly varied and would suit someone looking for an exciting and challenging position where every day will be different. You will be overseeing the reactive maintenance, planned, health & safety and fire compliance. You will need to be able to wear different hats on different days and react quickly to situations! You will directly line manage a small DLO who will take care of any day to day repairs / maintenance and some cyclical planned works. Planned maintenance will typically take place during university holidays and so there will be a need to work to tight schedules to ensure that everything is carried out before the units are occupied again during term time. This will require excellent planning and implementation skills and a commitment to seeing the projects through to completion. Experience of managing trades people and procuring contractors for specialist work would be seen as an advantage. Having access to a vehicle would be also be beneficial as there will be a need to travel between different sites during the week.
