Our client currently has a locum job vacancy for a performance office to work within a practice improvement team based in Ashford. This vacancy has an initial 3 month contract and the pay rate for this role is up to £38 per hour (limited company worker). Duties include:Contributing to the audit of social work practiceMonitoring and evaluating professional standardsUndertaking management reports on behalf of the area assistant directorsProviding specialist advice to the area management team and front-line staff regarding highly complex cases Requirements: To be eligible for this role, all applicants must have a degree (or similar) within social work and be registered with the HCPC. You must also have at least 2 years recent post qualifying experience working within a similar role. Peformance Officer - Practise Improvement Team
I am looking for a Performance Officer, based in Ashford or Maidstone. Candidates must be HCPC registered and a car driver. Position will be based at either Ashford or Maidstone but will be expected to travel county wide. Responsible to: Head of Practice Improvement / Head of Quality Assurance Purpose of the job: The role covers all children in need groups; children in need, child protection, children in care and care leavers:Monitor and evaluate the quality of social work practice and identifying areas of good practice and where further improvement in the delivery of practice and services are requiredSupport and provide advice to Area operational managers in the delivery of: i) Social work practice including the development and implement of effective plans and child focused practice ii) The management and oversight of caseworkProvide consultation in complex casesContribute to County and Area audits of social work practice and the implementation of improvement actions plans arising from these auditsPromote multi-agency partnershipsPromote a learning culture within the directorate to encourage social worker development and learningDisseminate / raise awareness of key national and local policy changes and messages from key research influencing the delivery of effective practice Main duties and responsibilities: In liaison with the Head of Practice Improvement / Head of Quality Assurance and senior operational managers within Specialist Childrens Services:Contribute to the audit of social work practiceMonitor and evaluate professional standards of social work practice through scrutiny of childrens social care database, audit findings, Quality assurance reports and staff focus groups / surveys.Contribute to the formulation, monitoring and review of local policies and procedures required by the directorate to ensure practice standards are being met effectively.Contribute to the implementation of action plans developed from county audits of social work practice Undertake management reports on behalf of the Area Assistant Directors in relation to Serious Case Reviews and internal management investigations at stage 2 and oversee the implementation and monitoring of management action plans following recommendations from these.Identify, plan and deliver, when required, training, presentations and workshops to staff both internally and on a multi-agency basis.Maintain awareness of national developments in legislation, policy and practice as well as emerging research findings in order to keep operational Areas appropriately informed.Provide specialist advice to the Area management team and front-line staff regarding highly complex cases.As part on the local authorities contingency protocol, on occasion, chair looked after children statutory review meetings and Child Protection ConferencesAs delegated, represent the directorate at conferences and special interest working groups at a county or national level MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCQSW / DipSW or equivalentPost Qualifying Award in Social Work (PQSW)Current registration with Health and Social Care Commission EXPERIENCE Significant experience in children and families practice of which the majority should be post qualification experienceExperience of a full range of children and families work, including children protection and children in care / care leaversEvidence of involvement in multi-agency working with colleagues from health, Education and other key agenciesExperience of line managing and supervising qualified social workers SKILLS AND ABILITIESSound professional judgement and decision-making skillsLeadership and influencing skillsAbility to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff internally and with key colleagues from other agenciesChange management skillsGood organisational skills to oversee and prioritise a range of projectsProblem solving skillsAbility to use and evaluate statistical informationAbility to challenge effectively whilst maintaining professional integrity and deliver difficult messages without undermining professional relationshipsExcellent communication skills both verbal and written KNOWLEDGEHigh level of working knowledge of the statutory framework, including the Children Act 1989 and its supporting guidance and regulations, Working Together 2013, and legislation and guidance concerning Fostering and AdoptionHigh level of knowledge of social work theory and its implications for practice including attachment theory and child developmentHigh level of knowledge of Directorate and Corporate policy and procedures with respect to Children in Need, Children Protection and Children in Care / Care LeaversKnowledge of the process involved in court proceedings BEHAVIOURSProfessional credibilityPersonal resilienceDiscretion and sensitivityMotivation and passion to promote best practiceInnovative and flexible approachCommitment to equal opportunitiesUse of initiaitve Please do not apply unless you match the Job Description above.
