BAND 6 Occupational Therapist (SOUTH LONDON)
We are looking for a Band 6 therapist (OT) who will assist with the processing of the Enablement referrals. Unfortunately this role does not really entail any therapy intervention with clients but is predominantly a admistration/ desk role. So it might work for some who is pregnant, injured etc.... The role is for a professional to sit in the Enablement business support office, check new referrals that are for therapy intervention in a work tray on the computer. The professionals will then decide if this referral is appropriate, more info required, liaise with referrer, establish what type of intervention and the number of visits required, discuss logistics like transport, key safe, pendent alarms etc. This might involve a visit to the ward to meet the patient and referrer. Once this has been established, the referral is then passed onto a planner who will set up the daily visits. We would need someone with strong intermediate care experience who understands community and enablement working but also understands the pressure the acute trust is under to get people out of discharge. So we need someone with excellent communication skills (very good use of English and outstanding phone manners), with strong clinical skills to make this judgement call and then discusses the decisions with referrers. Good IT skills essential. Hours are 9-5, Monday- Fridays. Capita Social Care and Housing is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. Location: City of London Salary: £30.00 - £32.00 ph Hours: Full-time Type: Permanent Starting: Immediately Duration: Ongoing
