The role of the Consultant Practitioner (FAST Manager) is to provide a high quality service which effectively diverts children aged 10 and over from the care system whenever safe to do so. Needs experience of management with working with Adolescent s and Edge of Care. Edge of care services will work to divert children and young people from care and to remain within their families whenever safe to do so. The FAST will provide an intensive and rapid response at time of crisis, when a young person (aged 10-17 years old) and their family are in conflict, working on a short-term basis to resolve the conflict sufficiently to enable the child or young person to remain with their family or in the community. JOB PURPOSE To manage a team of Social Workers and ancillary staff, providing a service to Children on the Child Protection Register, Children who are Looked After on with other complex needs. To ensure the provision of a high quality, cost effective and efficient social work service to Children in need and their families. To provide such a service within agreed departmental service and financial priorities and the Councils Equal Opportunity Policy. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES To have devolved responsibility for the management of budgets within the designated service area.
