Project Worker
I am currently recruiting for a Project worker for a 30 hour temporary contract for a month in Blackpool, Lancashire. The hours of work will include weekdays and weekends on a rota basis and will be 9am -12pm and then 4.30pm - 7.30pm My client work closely with the local authority in Blackpool providing temporary accommodation and emergency accommodation to residents in the Blackpool facing homelessness. Working in my clients medium sized supported housing project you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive customer focused advice and guidance service to residents in temporary accommodation facing homelessness. You will work with service users to empower them to sustain their tenancy and secure long term accommodation. The role will involve providing emergency accommodation to service users referred from the council on a daily basis Other duties of the post will includeCompleting initial referral interviews on all new service usersSetting up tenanciesSupport plans and risk assessmentsLiaising with external agencies and signposting service users for additional supportProviding comprehensive housing welfare and benefit adviceProperty and room inspections to ensure residents are adhering to tenancy agreements We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in supported housing. Project Worker - Supported Housing
To provide support as part of a team, providing high quality and intensive housing management to people with mental ill health, memory loss/dementia. Key Tasks: In conjunction with the Project Manager and referring agents; to participate in the selection of applicants, issue tenancy agreements, induct and help orientate new service users to the project.Maintain files and logs as part of daily duties and keep records and other administration up to date.Develop and provide comprehensive, individualised support packages. This will involve assessing support and risk needs, developing support/risk plans and offering practical advice and assistance on issues to help customers maintain their independent daily living skills. Support Plans and Risk Plans are to be reviewed regularly.Take prompt action to address issues that may affect service delivery.Ensure the ethos of dignity and respect at the schemes is maintained and developed.Ability to resolve conflict and deal with antisocial behaviour effectively.Maintain active links with relevant statutory and voluntary bodies and draw on a range of support, information opportunities and guidance.Implement and adhere to company policy and practice in relation to health and safety.Inspect the schemes on a planned basis and take action where required; including reporting repairs.Maintain all records about service users in line with the housing association and scheme recording procedures.Carry out all office tasks such as administration, report writing and file keeping.Collate and provide statistical reports as required by the Project Manager.Monitor standards and contribute to the development of service provision.Carry out risk assessments and participate in risk management in accordance with IVHA policies.Receive and accurately record cash and rental income within established IVHA procedures.Actively encourage service user involvement and develop individual and collective aspirations.Maintain safety and security of the building, colleagues, customers and yourself.Consider and always promote the interests of the scheme and IVHA.Undertake other such work of an equal nature and duties related to the objectives of the post as directed by the appropriate line manager.Project Workers will be expected to take a pride in the scheme, and as such may be expected to take part in some light cleaning duties. Job Context: The post holder will be part of a team providing support to service users. The post holder will need experience of working with either of the two client groups and be aware of the wider issues facing these groups. The service liaises effectively with other agencies and the post holder will need to develop these as appropriate.The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to notice subtle changes in behaviour as well as sound judgment and decision making abilities.The post holder may work unsupervised or with others depending on the rota and will be expected to ensure the smooth day to day running of the schemes and support provision. As the post is part of a team on a rota, the post holder will be required to be flexible and supportive to ensure that the services are provided at both schemes to a high standard.The post holder may need to challenge unacceptable behaviours, remain calm under pressure and use authority appropriately to maintain safety to themselves, service users and others. The post holder will also be required to adopt different approaches to best provide support to different customers: from developing skills to move on to independence to developing End of Life Pathways. The post holder will be able to find solutions to problems and motivate customers.The post holder will be expected to actively engage in their own personal development, training, Coaching Checks and the Association’s ethos of taking responsibility, having a positive attitude and treating others how they would like to be treated.
