Rent and Service Charge Manager
I am currently looking for a Rent and Service Manager within the Kent Region. Please see the details of the role below. Experience of service charges is essential with Housing experience but may also consider lettings experience. You will be responsible for the preparation of all service charge costs and statements for the group across all tenures. The management of services charges ensuring compliance with current legislation. To manage the rent increase process including, letter generation and liaison with external companies. Manage the tendering and allocation of utility serviceable accounts and ensure correct allocation of costs on a monthly basis. Calculating and setting the annual service charge estimates and Budget. , ensuring adequate audit trail for accountability to residents. To reconcile and audit year end statement of accounts for residents and leaseholders. Liaising with members of the Finance team to extract cost data. Liaising with the IT team to manipulate the data for modelling purposes and for inclusion in reports, letters etc. To undertake the rent increase process, including, letter generation etc, ensuring that the annual rent letters include a full service charge. Candidate Requirements - Please see below Detailed knowledge of the legal provisions governing service charges Detailed knowledge of the practices employed by Housing Associations in setting and administering service charges Knowledge of Housing Benefit regulations as they apply to Service Charges Experience of working for Housing Associations Experience of managing staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to explain complex concepts and train staff as necessary.
